A. Privacy Policy

Privacy: The Nebraska Sheriffs' Association (“NSA”) understands that safeguarding privacy is an important part of establishing and maintaining your trust while you interact with the Nebraska Sheriffs' Association (“NE Sheriffs' Site” and “Site”). At the same time, it is important for the NSA to understand how you and other visitors to the NE Sheriffs' Site interact with the Site, so that the NSA can better understand your needs and desires. Part of this process includes collecting certain information about visitors to the Site.

The Nebraska Sheriffs' Web Site does not collect any personal identifying information about individuals visiting the Site except when actively provided by the individual. The NSA will not release any of the information collected to a third party without permission, unless required by law or competent judicial authority.

Information Collected: The NSA gathers the following two types of information about visitors to the Site: Data provided through voluntary contact and customer service forms; and anonymous usage, traffic, and survey information.

Customer Service Forms: To provide you with the service you expect in the most efficient way possible, the NSA provides a number of customer service forms on the Site. The forms will generally request the following information:

Complete name
Street address
Home/work/fax phone numbers
E-mail address
Preferred method of contact (if appropriate)
Membership status (yes/no)

Calculators: Calculators on this Web site are for informational purposes only. The NSA captures the data input into the forms for the purposes of ensuring the calculator is meeting the needs of users and returning the proper output. The calculator input data is not in any way linked to an individual.

Web Usage Information: The NSA collects information on the usage of the Site and the pages and functionality held within. The information collected in this process permits the Site operators to understand how the Site is being used and how the Site might be improved to enhance usage. The information collected in this manner is on an anonymous basis, and IP addresses are not linked to individual users.

Use of Cookies: A cookie is information that a Web site typically stores on the hard drive of your computer as a text file. This text file contains a unique identification number that permits and aids the Site operators to passively track the user’s behavior on the web site. A cookie does not allow a Web site to obtain any personal information (such as your name and address) that you have not otherwise disclosed.

The NE Sheriffs' Association Web Site uses session cookies. A session cookie is a small text file that is sent to your browser when you access the Site which is stored temporarily in the computer’s memory. Session cookies are used to maximize performance and to aid in securing specific areas of the Web site. The session cookie is available only during the course of the browser session; the information is not sent to or stored on your computer’s hard drive. Closing your browser or logging off invalidates the session cookie.

Commitment to Confidentiality: Confidentiality is a top priority of the NSA. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality with all of the information that we receive, including the information received from the NE Sheriffs' Web Site.

B. Terms of Service & Use

User Agreement: This Site is accessible worldwide to anyone with Internet access. Access to and use of the Service and the Sites on the NSA Web Site is subject to the terms and conditions of this User Agreement and Copyright Notices and all applicable laws and regulations, including laws and regulations governing copyright and trademark protection.

BY ACCESSING THE SERVICE AND THE SITES, YOU ACCEPT, WITHOUT LIMITATION OR QUALIFICATION, ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN THIS USER AGREEMENT.

The NSA reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time and without advanced notice. The changes will appear on this screen. By using the Service and the Sites, you agree in advance to accept any changes.

None of the Site content is subject to any warranty or condition, express or implied, of any nature whatsoever. NSA does not provide any warranties with respect to any hyperlinks or links contained on the Site.

The materials used and displayed on the Service and the Sites, including but not limited to text, software, photographs, graphics, illustrations and artwork, video, music and sound, names, logos, designs, pictures, processes, and trademarks and service marks, are the property of the Nebraska Sheriffs' Association, and/or its licensors and protected by law. All such content may be displayed solely for your personal, noncommercial use as it relates to the activities and programs of the Nebraska Sheriffs' Association. Because certain information concerning the Nebraska Sheriffs' Association is treated as proprietary, you agree not to modify, reproduce, retransmit, distribute, disseminate, sell, publish, broadcast or circulate any such material without the written permission of the NSA.

Your use of the service and the sites is at your own risk. The Nebraska Sheriffs' Association, and subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, agents, representatives or licensors shall be liable to you or anyone else for any loss or injury or any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or similar damages arising out of your access or use of, or your inability to access or use, the service and the sites and the information available on the service and the sites or arising out of any action taken in response to or as a result of any information available on the service and the sites. You hereby waive any and all claims against the NSA, and its agents, representatives and licensors arising out of your use of the service and the sites and the information available thereon.

All text, software, photographs, graphics, and other material of any and all kinds available on this Web site are provided by the Nebraska Sheriffs' Association.

The NSA respects the Marks and intellectual property of others and, therefore, reserves the right to remove or delete material transmitted to and/or posted on the Site by any electronic means that is believed to infringe on the property rights of the NSA or others.
